Concept

Angular distortion — where it appears

The slope between two neighbouring points of a settled structure, taken as the ratio of their differential settlement to the distance between them. It is the quantity every table of settlement limits is written in, calibrated on damaged buildings rather than derived, and it says nothing about which way the profile is bending.
